Show Synopsis
From MTI - The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella,
who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk.
When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's
curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but
the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
From the director - Into the Woods is easily Stephen Sondheim’s most famous work, for
good reason. It is a masterclass on music and lyrics, set to the backdrop of fairy tales
we all have a connection to. While Act 1 is wonderfully campy and familiar, Act 2 is a
brutally honest side of the stories that normally remains untold. “What happens after
ever-after?” Into the Woods reminds us that getting what we want is not all there is to
live for.
